What is a MAPC Project Synopsis?
An IGNOU MAPC project synopsis is essentially a brief proposal outlining your final Master of Arts in Psychology project. IGNOU uses this document to ensure your project idea is appropriate and meets their academic standards.
Where to Submit Your IGNOU MAPC Project Synopsis?
You’ll need to submit your synopsis to your Regional Centre (RC). After you submit it, your RC forwards the synopsis to subject experts for evaluation. These experts are officially approved by the Discipline of Psychology, School of Social Sciences (SOSS), IGNOU, New Delhi.
If your synopsis gets approved, you’re all set to begin working on your main project. If it’s not approved, don’t worry! You’ll receive valuable feedback and suggestions for how to improve it. Once you’ve made the necessary revisions, you can resubmit the updated synopsis for another review.
IGNOU MAPC Project Synopsis Submission Dates?
IGNOU university allows students to submit their synopsis only during specific months, depending on which batch you belong to:
- July Batch: Submit between 1st – 31st October
- January Batch: Submit between 1st – 30th April
Where to Send the IGNOU MA Psychology Synopsis?
After your MA Psychology synopsis has been evaluated and approved, you must send the soft copy of the synopsis, along with:
- The scanned synopsis approval proforma, and
- The evaluator’s suggestions (Appendix-II)

Typically, the final project is submitted to the Student Evaluation Division (SED) at IGNOU Headquarters, New Delhi, or as per the latest instructions from IGNOU.
