IGNOU Project Marks Missing? Here’s What to Do

Did you submit your IGNOU project, but your marks still aren’t showing on your grade card? You’re not the only one. Many students experience this each session. If your IGNOU project marks aren’t updated, don’t worry—we’ll explain why this happens, how long it typically takes, and the exact steps you need to follow to get it sorted.

IGNOU Project Marks Update Time

IGNOU university typically takes about 30 to 45 days to update marks after submission. For projects, it might sometimes take up to 60 days or even longer due to the evaluation process. Don’t panic immediately. Give it a reasonable amount of time after your submission.

Where to Check IGNOU Project Marks?

Before you worry, it’s important to know where to check your project marks.

Visit the official IGNOU Grade Card portal:
https://gradecard.ignou.ac.in/gradecard/

  • Select your Program Code
  • Enter your Enrollment Number
  • Click Submit

If your marks are updated, you’ll see them listed under the “Project” or “Practical” column.

IGNOU Project Marks Submission Status

Students can check their Project Marks Submission status. It might show:

  • “Received”: Your project has been received by IGNOU.
  • “Under Evaluation”: Your project is currently being assessed.
  • “Approved/Completed”: Evaluation is complete, and marks are being sent for update.
  • “Not Found” / “Not Submitted”: This indicates a more serious issue where your submission might not have been registered.

What to Do if Project Marks are Still Not Updated (After the Expected Timeline) :

Contact Your Regional Centre/Study Centre: This is often the most effective first step.

  • Email: Send an email to your Regional Centre (RC) and/or Study Centre (SC) coordinator.
    • Include all necessary details: Your 10-digit Enrollment Number, Programme Code, the specific Project Code, and the date you submitted your project.
    • Attach proof of submission: This is crucial. It could be your project submission receipt, acknowledgement slip, or even a screenshot of your online submission confirmation.
  • Visit in Person (if feasible): If you are near your Study Centre or Regional Centre, a direct visit can sometimes expedite the process. Carry all your documents.
  • Call: You can try calling your Regional Centre, but sometimes emails provide a more formal record.
