The distance university has announced the notification for eligible candidates for admission into distance education programmes such as M.Phil and PHD programmes for July 2019 cycle. To take admission in research programmes, students needs to appear for an entrance test. The Information Brochure for entrance test for Research Degree Programmes is available online at university website. The higher degree programme is strictly launched in strict compliance with UGC – University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.PHIL / PHD Degrees) Regulations 2016.
As per notifications, the date of Entrance Test for M.Phil and Ph.D programme is Updated Soon (Sunday). The applications forms is available online from March 7, 2019 for July 2019 cycle. Students whose wants to take admission in research programmes, can appear for entrance test by filling the application form online by clicking at link https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/entrancersunit/.

DURATION : The maximum duration of MPhil and PH.D programme are 4 years and 5 years respectively.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR M.PHIL / PH.D Programmes : Below are Eligibility Criteria Details which is needed to take admission in research programmes by appearing in an Entrance Exam.
M.Phil : To be eligible, must have Master’s Degree of any recognized University / other qualifications which is recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University. The minimum eligibility criteria is 55% marks at Post Graduation level [50% in case of reserved categories {SC, ST, OBC (Non- Creamy) and PWD}] etc.
Ph.D : To be eligible, must have Master’s Degree and /or M.Phil in the relevant discipline along with the required qualifications.
PROGRAMME FEES : The Ph.D Programme Fee is Rs 7000/- per annum for 2 years. For M.Phil, the one time programme fee is Rs Rs. 10500/- which included course fees as well.
SELECTION PROCEDURE : For taking admission in research programmes, the university will conduct an entrance exam will be updated soon (Sunday) at all over India. After submitting application form, the university will publish list of shortlisted candidates on their official website.
For appearing in an entrance exam, the university needs to download IGNOU MPHIL PHD Entrance Hall Ticket July 2018 by visiting the university website.
LIST OF CITIES : The Entrance Test will be conducted in following cities : Ahmedabad, Bengaluru Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Trivandrum etc.
HOW TO APPLY FOR M.PHIL / PH.D Programmes : The Application form is available online for research programmes. Interested and Eligible Candidates can apply online by visiting the university online portal. Firstly, students need to register that appears in the applicant login area and fill the required registration details. After that step, username will be instantly sent to you via e-mail and SMS. Before filling form, the applicant must have the following : Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB) and Scanned Signature (less than 50 KB). The applications fees can be paid via Credit Card (Master / Visa), Debit Card (Master / Visa / Rupay), Net Banking and ATM Card(PNB).
